Evil Geniuses have now removed their DotA squad which has in turn, disbanded as a team altogether.

The year of 2009 has been a mixed bag for the professional DotA scene, with the emergence of some resilient Asian teams and unfortunately, the departure of European superstar teams that include, but are not limited to SK Gaming, Mousesports, Meet Your Makers and now Evil Geniuses. This disbandment is following an unimpressive 2009 that featured no EG.DotA appearances at LAN events and lacking full-team practices. Team EG management has remained rather silent on the subject, having subtly removed the DotA portion of the website and not releasing any official statements.

However, the now-former EG players have expressed their specific feelings on IRC. The following message has been posted by Clinton 'Fear' Loomis and Jimmy 'DeMoN' Ho for all users:

"Team EG wins back-to-back CEVO championships. I would like to thank everyone who followed us, but unfortunately our time is up. We couldn't have asked for a better way to go out. Thanks everyone for your support! Team EG.Dota disbands."

Meet Your Makers received an exclusive statement from Demon, which stated the concerns of the team prior to disbandment:

"The team had an irreparable problem that inevitably caused its downfall. We're still all really good friends and play together regularly. But unfortunately, like all good things, it has come to an end. I would like to keep my plans secret for now, but I think you won't see any of the players from the team retiring anytime soon. In fact, you might see some of the players playing together again in the future! It's going to be a mystery!!"

This statement has proven to be more than face value, considering how the former team has remained banded together and will play the rest of the matches they have scheduled before finally departing. The team recently conquered Blight.usa in CEVO-P and MCiTY in Farm4Fame.
