Evil Geniuses made Team ALTERNATE look like most of the competition they face in their online competitions as they dominated the T side of dust2 without problems, each player seeming at ease in his area of the offense.

First half

EG's offensive side was very strong against the Germans and without roman they looked more than a little lacking in firepower during the decisive mini-battles which make up a dust2 game. The first half saw EG as terrorists going where they pleased, holding middle when they wanted and generally being unphased by anything Alterante could come up with in terms of positioning. As usual it was fRoD leading the way along with n0thing for the Americans. Meanwhile new comer blizker got a baptism of fire as he found himself sitting on 4-12 in the 14th round. Still the team may not have noticed as captain mooN sat on 4-11 himself.


Second half

The second half pistol round saw Alternate lose two before hitting B. lurppis got the reentry kill and then Storm came in through the window and finished off the last two with headshots. For Alternate only a single kill had come out of the pistol round, a bad sign of things to come. Alternate then began a rather strange buying pattern as on the second round of they had their entire team with deagles, taking B, except Roman R. who had an AK in B tunnels. Still the round proved to be a success as after getting initial kills and taking over the site Alternate had done enough to make EG decide to save three guns at long A.

Two kills from Storm broke open another B push from the Germans and EG took the 3rd round to go up 14:4 overall. Buying half deagles and half AKs Alternate looked in trouble down 2v5 but two kills from blizker brought it to 2v3 as he and mooN penetrated A and planted. A kill from mooN made it 2v2 and blizker was able to make it 2v1. Then came disappointment for Alternate though as Storm killed both of them and defused with his usual clutch play and solid timing. EG had reached map point.

Alternate was not going to go away immediately as they hit B hard again with another mixture of deagles and AKs and two kills from paN helped them into a situation facing fRoD on his own who attempted to save his AWP in T spawn but then had to drop down to the underpass and was killed. EG eco'd the next two and Alternate got the game to 15:7 to the Americans. The fateful round for the Germans came next on the 8th of the half as they attacked B once again and this time lurppis hiding in the site was able to take two kills and slow them down. When the round got down to a 1v1 between Roman R. near the doors and n0thing in the tunnels it was the young American who came out on top over the German veteran and took the match for EG.

The teams played out the remaining rounds, as per the setup of Arbalet Cup Europe, and Alternate managed to take four of the remaining seven to at least made the round difference a little less daunting.
