The fact that our partner SteelSeries provides great products has never been a secret. Those of you who haven't been convinced by this yet, should definitely check out the first big review of the SteelSeries Xai by DriverHeaven. The massive UK-based hardware site, DriverHeaven has taken a look at the SteelSeries Xai and today published their review, revealing a Gold Award with the scores:
Build Quality: 9/10
Design: 9/10
Value: 10/10
Performance: 10/10
OVERALL: 10/10
A few quotes:
- "In terms of ergonomics, the Xai is fantastic. All told it is the most comfortable mouse I have used and fits both left and right hands perfectly."
Upon the subject of ExactAim and FreeMove:
- "In terms of real world differences, these features work very well. There are noticeable improvements in real-world gaming performance when using these features; aiming is much more precise, especially at long distances."
- "When using the Xai for gaming, performance is nothing short of phenomenal; it really shows that SteelSeries consult professional gamers when developing their products."
- "Throughout the entire testing process, the Xai performed flawlessly. There were no noticeable lapses in tracking and no sensor lag at all. I tested the Xai using all three gripping styles – I have to say it is the only gaming mouse I have experienced that is fully suitable for all three styles and is equally comfortable to use with all of them."
- "All told, the SteelSeries Xai is the most impressive gaming mouse I have ever tested in our labs. SteelSeries haven’t merely tried to differentiate the Xai with flashing lights and weight systems we have seen from competing manufacturers - instead they have concentrated on the core features such as ergonomics and performance."
- "I would recommend the Xai to any gamer at any level of gaming ability. Professional gamers are likely to admire the no-frills approach that SteelSeries have implemented, alongside the extensive and impressive configuration options. The Xai carries a very reasonable price tag and, at just a little over £55, is no more than your average gaming mouse so will appeal to casual gamers too."
