coL move past SoA in a very close 2 maps

ImagecoL beating SoA 2 maps to 0 may have seemed par for the course before this event started but the Danes took the Americans to the limit in their series which was far from convincingly won.

compLexity would be tested in the first round as they met an Spirit of Amiga team who seemed unintimidated as they constantly clawed back rounds and went on runs in their first round matchup. coL looked shaky at times as they saw the first game go into overtime but then in the non-regulation period the Americans locked it down to win without a response from the Danes.

The second map saw SoA taking the lead, though with a solid end of half comeback to make it close. In the second half coL were leading until the Danes pulled it back level mid-half only for the Americans to take the game with a final push which saw them all the way to the finishing line.

First half

coL's terrorist half saw them in a grind out game where they hit the shots to make it out of the half with a slim lead at 8:7.

Second half

SoA won the pistol round thanks to two kills from KarrigaN making it 3v1 in SoA's favour, despite irukandji's two kill heroics to make it 1v1. In the 1v1 irukandji got a clear shot onto the SoA player who was looking to the site as opposed to the coL player's position on the balcony but a miss from the American saw the Dane swing his crosshair left and upwards and catch him through the gap of the bombsite pillar and boxes to win it.

SoA immediately found out this wasn't going to be a free-flowing offensive half on the 4th round when they got into B but in a 2v4 situation they proceeded to lose. The next round also went coL's way after SoA again got into B but 3v4 when the bomb went down and again lost to a coL team which pushed together and overwhelmed with their rifles. coL took the next to tie the half up and then another to take a 4:3 lead. ArcadioN winning a 1v1 against thoMz got SoA back to a tie in the half but three kills from dboorN the next round sent it the Americans' way and another followed that to make it 6:5 in the half.

SoA rallied to win three in a row, including an enemy eco round which almost went wrong as ArcadioN found himself 1v4 in B but managed to kill them all to put his team at map point. On the last round dboorN pulled out three kills to send the game to overtime for the Americans.

Overtime

Overtime was all coL all the time as they won the first round without too much difficulty, then put SoA into a situation where they tried to save but had men killed. Then the last round of the half saw SoA with deagles and famases overload A with four men left and coL went B and won the half flawlessly. The second half began and thoMz killed two and coL were in a 4v1 against ArcadioN, this time they wouldn't lose it as thoMz cleaned up the round to win the game for the American team.

First half

SoA got the jump with a pistol round victory but coL looked ever threatening as they took the third round thanks to two dboorN kills which finished the round. From a 2:2 tied game the Danes took the lead on a great AWPing round where FRIIS and FaagaN got two each with their sniper rifles. Faagan again hit with his AWP as coL's alley push failed and KarrigaN finished out the round. In the 8th round two kills from FRIIS saw SoA go up 6:2 and look like they might run away with it as their AWPs were all hitting.

coL started to come back as they won a semi-buy and then a 2v2 was won with two kills from hero in the 10th and the next also went to coL to make it 6:5 to SoA. FRIIS and arcadion combined for three kills to win the 12th round as coL pushed outer unsuccessfully and then another outer push, this time with a fake inner, saw coL give away another round to the Danes who went up 8:5. KarrigaN was sitting on 19-7 after SoA won the 14th round which was an eco for coL, but the Americans took the last as they got themselves 4v2 and thoMz killed the last two to make the half 9:6 to SoA.

Second half

coL ran all the way up to 6:0 to start the second half. The 4th had irukandji and hero killing two and the 5th and 6th were all dboorN as he killed three and then on the enemy's eco next round pushed T mid aggressively and took down four. SoA continued to scrap though and the 7th went to them as they got 4v4 with the bomb planted inside and despite the situation turning into a 1v2 KarrigaN killed the defuser and then the other CT who had run out of time/ammo.

A fast push inside saw another round go to SoA as FaagaN picked up two but FRIIS outdo him with three, including the 1v1 win against dboorN who had to try to defuse. The score sat at a tie overall at 6:3 to the Americans in the half and 12:12 for the map thanks to an interesting round which saw SoA go inside and get to 3v1 then sneak through the Z-halls and plant so irukandji could do little to prevent the round win. SoA took the lead with an inside to outside push.

coL then rediscovered their aim as they won the 11th in highlight fashion with hero getting three and ninespot two as SoA tried to push outside via the alley. The next three would go to coL to take the map and the game as dboorN's two kills in the 12th put him at 19-7. The final round, the 14th was two kills from hero which deciminated the inside push of SoA and the Americans could breathe easy knowing they were going to overtime on another map.
