Stermy is known as a player who plays at a consistent level so despite a win in the second map the American Chance was unable to overcome him over three. The Italian Alessandro 'stermy' Avallone took the first map in strong fashion against Chance 'Chance' Lacina but the American was able to level the series with a big performance of his own, leaving it all down to a deciding game on ztn.
The first map was t9 and Stermy was comfortably ahead the whole time and looked like the Stermy everyone expected to see. In the second, t7, Chance seemed to hit every shot he fired as his accuracy hovered around 60% for the railgun and he controlled the map with a number of impressive highlight reel type shots. Nobody was sure who the third map, ztn, would favour but the game began very tensely and Stermy took the first kill. Still the next kill would not follow quickly after and Chance played a bizarre waiting game which saw him give up both megahealth and red armour to Stermy a number of times, not even making an attempt at them or picking them up when they were left up at times.
That waiting game proved not to work out as once Stermy got his second kill Chance reversed his strategy and rushed Stermy a number of times. By the 1 minute warning went off Stermy was sitting with a 5 kill advantage, a comfortable lead in the world of ztn.
