mibr's world famous AWPer Rafael "cogu" Camargo has announced his retirement from competitive Counter-Strike. The ESWC 2006 champion will be retiring for the second time in his illustrious career.HLTV.org are reporting that Made in Brazil 's Raphael 'cogu' Camargo has announced his retirement from competitive CS as a result of being accepted into law school. This marks the second time cogu has given up the game, the first being his attempt at playing professional football in Qatar in 2006.
Ever since he became an mibr member cogu has been amazing fans and opponents around the world with his incredible AWPing ability which seems him seemingly never miss and win rounds where the numbers and odds vastly favour the opposing team. cogu's play helped power his team to a monster victory at ESWC 2006 and a $52,000 cheque. In 2007 the Brazilian tried his hand at Source in the CGS with Rio Sinistro. In 2008 he placed 2nd at IEM III LA and 3rd at IEM III Montreal to mark the last top placings of his career. Since then cogu's mibr side has fell apart due to internal fighting which left many of ex-team-mates playing against him in Firegamers.
His mibr team played at IEM Chengdu but did not make it out of the group stage after tying with TitaNs then seeing the Singaporean team beat EG.US in an upset win on nuke. cogu missed the WCG due to his team falling to rivals Firegamers at the qualifier.
In era of so many good teams who have collectively been through so many names cogu's still stands out as one of the elite few who can change any game and overcome any level of opponent. If this is truly the end for cogu then it marks the departure of one of the all time great players from the competitive game.
