Dreamhack to use LAN servers
Dreamhack recently announced the amount of prize money for their quake tournaments. At the same time they also confirmed that the tournament will have LAN servers and use 120Hz LCDs.

Dreamhack recently announced the amount of prize money for their quake tournaments. At the same time they also confirmed that the tournament will have LAN servers and use 120Hz LCDs.More information about the quake tournaments that will be held at Dreamhack has been announced. The Quake live tournament will have a prize pool of €4700 in cash and another €950 in hardware while Quakeworld will have to settle with €1400 in cash.
However, what might be the most interesting thing about the Quake forever tournaments at Dreamhack is that it will be the second non-id run tournament to use LAN servers for Quake live. Also the 60Hz LCDs from Dreamhack Summer has been replaced with 120Hz LCDs.
For the spectators the tournaments will be just as good as they are filled with some of the best players from the world. Among the participants players like Anton 'Cooller' Singov and Magnus 'fox' Olsson can be found in the Quake live tournament while the quakeworld tournament will have players like Dennis 'LocKtar' Larsson and Nabbe who took first and second respectively this summer.

As for the prize money, I rather see it starting out slow with prize money that gets paid out and doesn't end with the company going bankrupt.
