The G7 has come together with around 15 different organisations to take actions against companies who have yet to pay the promised prize money, legal action may be required.According to the G7, a total of $355 208 is missing in prize money from different organisers such as the CPL, ESWC and GGL / Clanbase. The G7 has thus decided to take action for this by contacting the organisations in debt to esports, however, only getting "vague responses" by ESWC.
In September, the G7 contacted different organisations in order to investigate how much money is missing. In two weeks only, they received 150 e-mails claiming unpaid prize money. The G7 is currently dealing with the matter in the hopes of finally giving the prize money to the deserving organisations or players, some of which have been waiting for years.
To help the cause, the G7 has asked the community to "boycott and spread the word about those [organisations] that do not [have a reputation of honesty and excellence].
The G7 would like to add that there is no open claim to the World Cyber Games and KODE5 who have so far paid everything. There are however open claims with the ESL regarding some missing prize money, but the ESL have respondent positively and are currently working closely with the G7 to make sure everything is being paid out correctly.

"To start, G7 Teams has reached out to CPL, which was recently bought by an Abu Dabi based investment company, ESWC, which recently filed for bankruptcy and has since been re-purchased by DIP Communications, and GGL / Clanbase, which is being sued by Game Hosting for unpaid server hosting bills, which together represent over $274,000 in claims. To date, G7 Teams has only gotten vague responses from ESWC, and so we’ll continue to reach out to each organization, notify current partners, start online petitions, and explore legal routes in an attempt to bring resolution to the issue. In the meantime, G7 Teams strongly encourages the community to boycott their ongoing activities until they engage in constructive discussions with G7 to investigate and resolve the community’s claims."

"Individually our voices have been ignored by these organizations for months and in some cases years, but together with one voice and coordinated efforts we can hopefully hold organizations accountable for their deceitful or malicious activities."

You should never join in a tournament where no real information are given about the prizemoney. There should be a standard procedure before every event where the tournament organizer would provide legal papers proving its financial health to the participating teams, signed and endorsed by a bailif.
Any event that does not pass this pre-test should not be allowed to:
- Invite G7 teams
- Post or publish news on any of the G7 websites
- Share sponsors with the G7 teams
Teams pretend "omg we aren't getting paid" but face it, the reason you're not getting paid is because it's been like that forever and you never complained, and because you never complained, nobody got sued, ever. This is why organizers are messing you, it's because there is no real risk. I mean, after the CXG fiasco, you guys still paid your tickets to fly to american tournaments, how stupid is that.
You should have had legal actions back then, now is a bit late.
Teams need to consult with solicitors and take the case to court otherwise nothing will happen.Actually, I am wondering how come teams have to receive sums like 200 000$ and still rely on empty promises? Are you fucking kidding me
AFAIK anyway.
When it comes to bankruptcy that is not true, specially when you do not know what they bought.
It is very possible that only ESWC as an IP was bought thus the money from the sale of the IP would go to paying debts.
I took Samsung for an example but I'm sure you get my point...
But i see what kinda point your trying to make and really it doesn't work like that. Noted case: Carling (beer) Cup in England, Football/Soccer cup. If they didn't pay out they money to the participants it would be the organisers: the football association (FA) that would be held responsible for not allocating the prize money not Carling.
Anyway, it's sad eSports has to go through all of this. :(
Whats the point now, its too late, if a company doesnt pay the prize money in less than 3-6 months people should stop playing there, companies behind esports leagues need to be realistic do not offer the money you cant pay in a resonable amount of time
Where can I make claims to the G7?
This organisation is as flawed as the organisations they try to fight. The irony....
Let's see if this will work and the teams will receive their prize on time.
eSports is a joke and will never become professional until we have a moon base and cars on flower fuel LOL
