The Polish players in AGAiN are headed to the WCG grand final in pursuit of their second gold medals. To get there they had to come out on top in a dog fight with the Russians in CMAX.gg, but they got there in the end.AGAiN was supposed to cruise to the finals after making it through their epic match against Power Gaming, afterall nobody before the event would have picked CMAX.gg ru to make the final. Apparently nobody informed the Russians of their destined role though as they looked every bit like a team who believed they could make it. The Poles made the final look like it was going according to the script with a very nice close out in the first game but then ran into a brick wall called Dosia in the second game to see the series evened up. Going into the second half of the final map only a round separated the two teams and it took some of that patented AGAiN lockdown defense as CT on nuke to secure the victory.
This now sets up a grand final for the WCG which in 2007 would have been a fanboy's dream come true. fnatic and AGAiN, two teams who have reigned at the top of CS in their time periods and yet never met in a final of one of the truly huge majors of any era will clash heads over a gold medal tomorrow.
AGAiN 16:09 CMAX.gg ru (train - 7:8, 9:1)
First half
This series began in close fashion as the two teams looked to have little to separate them and the score was 7:7 to the Poles as T until CMAX.gg got the edge thanks to Dosia winning a 1v1.
Second half
Any thoughts that this game would go down to the wire were so ended as the Poles won the pistol and racked up four rounds. Losing a single round meant little as they won consecutive rounds to take the game with the Russians no doubt still gasping for air for a minute wondering where that close game had gone. Impressive close out by the motivated Poles, neo's four kill round at the end sending a message CMAX.gg were in for the toughest test of the event by far.
AGAiN 10:16 CMAX.gg ru (inferno - 8:7, 2:9)
First half
CMAX.gg got back on the right track winning the pistol round on the back of a HEL1 three kill round and then the next two to go up 3:0. The Poles then seized control for four rounds and took the lead. Then it was the Russians turn again and they took four rounds, again HEL1 being instrumental in the push. With the score at 7:4 CMAX.gg saw more good play by HEL1 go to waste as AGAiN took all the reamining rounds in the half. kuben was the high man with 15-9 but NEO's 1v2 victory in the 13th round certainly was key.
Second half
After dominating the second half of the first game when they'd needed to many observers would have been expecting AGAiN to make their push for the whole series right then and there, with CMAX.gg being forced to weather the storm. As it was the second half would be a Russian story, not a Polish one. The first 7 rounds belonged to CMAX as dosia put on a show with a number of big rounds where he would kill three players from the pit area, denying access to the A bombsite. The 6th and 7th round saw HEL1 and fox winning 1v1s to keep Russian dreams alive. AGAiN took two rounds, one thanks to a NEO four kill effort, but CMAX.gg took back their control and the last two rounds to win the game and send a message to the Poles of their own. Again it was play from dosia which made it all possible and the Russian ended with a 24-4 scoreboard listing.
AGAiN 16:12 CMAX.gg ru (nuke - 8:7, 8:5)
First half
After two maps like those who knew what to expect really. Had the Poles peaked early or had CMAX spent their reserves trying to hang level with them? As the game began with a Russian pistol round victory it seemed like the Russians would continue where they left off. That is until they lost the second round against an AGAiN eco and then the next six to boot. Following the pattern of first halves in this series CMAX.gg as the team down rallied to make the game close as they had a six round streak of their own inspired by CT play from F_1N at upper with an excellent four kills in the space of a few seconds on AGAiN players running in the front entrance of upper. The Poles took the last round and headed into the second half with the slight lead, playing for their chance at a return to a WCG grand final.
Second half
Anyone who has seen this Polish team play CT sides of nuke when they are motivated knows you'd better have built up a coushion on your CT side or it's going to be a frustrating fight to win the game. CMAX.gg came in one round down but won the pistol and the next two rounds to take the lead. Both teams then traded a round before AGAiN settled into some of that legendary lockdown defense that makes this map at times impossible to play against them.
five rounds in a row were only broken up by a lone Russian round win before the Poles won three more, the map and the series.
The final is scheduled to be played at 5 AM CET tomorrow.

Good Luck in final AGAiN !
i believe on you
you can do it
well done till now
im glad that im from poland ;p
May be ridicolous but again, seriously. If AGAiN wins against CMAX, suddenly it's like. OMG AGAiN VERSUS FNATIC IN FINAL. AWEZUM! But if CMAX would have won, everyone would have predicted fnatic for the win. But if CMAX would have won. Wouldn't it be a more exciting final because CMAX proved theirself better than AGAiN? Sure AGAiN have more titles but writing "dream final" is wrong. It would be just as much a exciting final if CMAX would have won...
