mTw were supposed to take this series easily. They may have a new lineup but they'd won their group fairly convincingly. What's more Evil Geniuses are playing with a stand-in and had lost to HellRaisers in their group. Things ended up getting interesting though as the Americans snatched the first map to force the Danes to put a little wood on that fire to get the victory.

mTw 11:16 Evil Geniuses (inferno - 8:7, 3:9)

The old mTw.dk lineup of 2008 were one of the elite teams on inferno when their game was on, this team less so it would appear. An ok 8:7 first half for the Danies were quickly erased from memory by a 9:3 EG CT half to win the first map and shock mTw.dk.

mTw 16:10 Evil Geniuses (nuke - 11:4, 5:6)

However shocked the Danes may have been after losing the first to their lesser ranked opponents they quickly regained their composure and put a monsterous 11:4 T side on the board on nuke. When a team is able to put up rounds like that on offense on nuke it is very difficult to beat them due to the way the map can be played when rounds are tight. mTw.dk put the map away with EG 6 rounds behind them and headed into the decider.

mTw 16:12 Evil Geniuses (train - 8:7, 8:5)

A solid win in the first half of 8:7, respectable on train, had mTw.dk in the driver's seat as EG.US would no doubt be thinking back to their game against SK at the GCC where they had been unable to take even six rounds as terrorists. mTw.dk took the pistol round and second but EG were able to steal the third thanks to a 3v3 situation where n0thing killed one mTw.dk, found himself in a 1v2 but then got both those kills too.

Another round win for Eg was followed by Sunde winning a 1v1 against n0thing, who had 7 hp, at the inner site to give mTw.dk the lead for the half again. The Danes then ran off two more rounds on the back of big numbers from zonic to put themselves at 14:9. EG found some life taking three rounds in a row to make it 14:12 in mTw's favour but that would be all she wrote for the American side. In the 12th round they lost a 2v3 with the bomb planted at inner and then on what ended up being the final round they got to 2v2 only for n0thing to fail to kill zonic at mid-range with a rifle. zonic usp headshotted the young American and then finished the round, map and game off with the last kill onto storm.

mTw.dk may have had to break a sweat but all in all they looked good winning the rounds they needed to and putting pressure on their opponents to break their spirits. They will face TyLoo at 7:10 AM CET in the quarter finals.
