Jaedong, Bisu and Stork group interview

By Duncan 'Thorin' Shields

ImageJaedong, Bisu and Stork are three of the best SC players of the modern era so when FOMOS got them all into a room for a group interview you can better believe the translation makes for interesting reading.

In what must surely be a dream for group chat for StarCraft fanboys the world over teamliquid has a translated version of group interview conducted with superstars Jae Dong 'Jaedong' Lee, Tae Yong 'Bisu' Kim and Byung Goo 'Stork' Song. All three of the Koreans won their WCG groups with perfect records and are the three favourites to take the gold medal.

Speaking about his loss to Stork at the 2008 WCG Jaedong answered:

"That hurt back then, but I forgot about it. I don't remember that well and one of us had to lose, and I think it might have been better that Stork won. I want to do better this time, but it's not like I want revenge. We already played a lot in the individual leagues."

Asked about who out of Jaedong-Flash-Bisu-Stork should be considered the next bonjwa (a term meaning a StarCraft player who dominates the scene for a period of time and wins numerous titles) Stork explains:

"Truthfully, Flash and I aren't in the discussion, it's about Jaedong and Bisu. My fans try to put Flash in there though (laughs). I don't think there will be a 5th bonjwa. Maybe if another game becomes like StarCraft now, but there will not be another bonjwa in StarCraft."

On the topic of whether he and Jaedong will ever become friends Bisu replied:

"I have the intentions to become friends with JAedong but we don't talk a lot. It's hard to meet him on battle.net and I don't go on often either."

Jaedong is widely considered to be the best StarCraft player in the world right now with his #1 KeSPA ranking of 2,809.5 points leading second place (Bisu) by 1139.2 points. Known by the nickname "The Tyrant" or "Lord of Destruction" Jaedong has won three OSL titles (earning him the golden mouse as only the third to ever accomplish it) and one MSL title.

The "Ninja Toss" or "Revolutionist" Bisu not only holds the #2 KeSPA ranking but is known for his rivalry with Jaedong, his victories being three MSL titles putting him in his own special group of only three players with such a record.

Stork may not have the same kind of accomplishments backing him up as the other two names, with only one OSL title and no MSL, but he has something neither have: a WCG gold medal.

Should they all win their playoff games Jaedong and Bisu will face off in a semi-final which promises to be one for the ages while the winner of the game would face Stork in the final. That promises to make for an incredibly tense final as Jaedong and Bisu may have the edge but Stork has been in two WCG finals.
