Dmitriy 'Happy' Kostin took third at least year's World Cyber Games but after a strong start to the year has stuttered in recent competitions. Xiaofeng 'Sky' Li took second in his group due to his loss to Marc 'yAwS' Förster in Group E, and has not played an Undead in mainstream competition since his match versus Hjalmar 'DowaQ' Högberg in the NGL ONE Ladder season over 3 months ago. Happy has the advantage of playing an uncommon race as well as being particularly strong in Undead vs Human, whilst Sky will have the crowd behind him given that the match will be played on the mainstage tomorrow morning.

The second playoff match of interest is Jae Ho 'Moon' Jang against Du Seop 'WhO' Chang, with the winner most likely having to play Xuwen 'InFi' Wang. Moon took 1st in his group whilst WhO got stuck with second seed because of a loss to reigning champion Manuel 'Grubby' Schenkhuizen in group C, which is unfortunate given that 1st seed would have allowed him to have the easier side of the bracket.
