Yoan 'ToD' Merlo who came out of retirement shortly before WCG to win WCG France under the Millenium tag. When asked why the Frenchman chose now to play for a French team he said it went back to his Reign of Chaos days before he was well known.

At that time he had no PC and no internet but a friend let him play at his netcafe, which was the start of ToD's path to success. That friend is now the owner of Millenium, and partnered with a good friendship with the other players in the team led to his decision.

ToD's group at WCG had only four players but with two not showing up it means he receives automatic qualification. "Supposidly I get automatic qualification because only one other person from my group is here," said ToD. "I would have been able to make it anyway I think, even though I did not play for quite some time but we play on Twisted Meadows and its Night Elf so you never know."

Last night ToD had a practice session with June 'Lyn' Park to get himself back on track to fend off the ever growing swarms of Orc players, but went 0-8 against the BlizzCon winner. "Yea we played some games last night but I did not do well. I don't know maybe a little bit of everything, I did not play well, but maybe it is because he is THAT good [laughs]. Lyn played very well especially given the conditions because our setups were not good." "He did a lot of different strategies, that is what surprised me. I don't know if Lyn was just trying stuff out but he really played some interesting strategies."

ToD's participation brings back memories of his former team-mate Olav 'Creolophus' Undheim who came out of inactivity to go all the way in WCG and take gold, but ToD does not believe he will be pulling off such a feat this time around.

"I think it will be easier for me than for Creolophus because I'm still using the computer everyday playing some strategy games like DoTa. It will be easier for me but at the same time I don't think I can make it [laughs]. What Creolophus did was like impossible, I do not think someone could do it again. I just want to go as far as I can and enjoy myself but that maybe difficult if I have to meet many orc players!"
