Firegamers' nak, an ESWC champion in his own right, spoke to HLTV.org about his team's elimination from the WCG in spite of a train victory over fnatic.Following FireGamers 's victory over fnatic , which came at the price of not getting enough rounds to qualify for the playoffs, Renato 'nak' Nakano gave a short interview to HLTV.org about his team's disappointing elimination and their impressive victory over the mighty Swedes.
Regarding their close elimination nak told HLTV.org:
Concerning the victory over fnatic:
With Brazilian CS being in a poor state collectively due to mibr representing the country at events but underperforming due to having a weaker lineup and Firegamers only mananging to get to an event via the WCG qualifier the casual fan could be forgiven for thinking Brazilian CS no longer relevant. In fact nak's play in mibr over the past couple of years has been a part of a number of big placings.
In 2006 they shocked the world by winning ESWC for a monster $52,000. The very next year they took the runnersup NoA to the limit on two maps before bowing out in 4th, as well as taking 2nd at GameGune shortly afterwards. In 2008 mibr were able to take 2nd at EM III LA including a victory in the winners bracket over the eventual winners SK Gaming.

Regarding their close elimination nak told HLTV.org:
"We are thinking about those silly rounds we gave away against wNv after we had lost the match and that now make a difference, we are out because of 4 rounds, if we had made two more rounds against fnatic, if wNv had made one more round on the stage, we would be through.
It's hard to lose like this, because of small details, but we were in a hard group and we knew it would be like this, decided by details, but it is okay, we got here in our first international event and we beat fnatic so it was worth it."

Concerning the victory over fnatic:
"Against fnatic, de_train is also one of our strongest maps, we were expecting a match like this, we played very well and I think they did not expect this defeat but there is nothing we can do, we are out."

wnv players were just better :>
anyway good luck in future ;p
YOU CAN PLAY TRAIN GAME GUYS!!!
ur win a fnatic and is what matters
Better luck next time.
but still fg strong team.
gg
don't talk shi7 if u don't know.
that would ofcourse take a hell of alot more of time but it would be more fair to every team in the tournament.
fnatic only lost to FireGamers. and FireGamers only lost to wNv.
but wNv lost to both fnatic and FireGamers..... it's them that should of be out and FireGamers and fnatic that go through instead of wNv.
wNv got lucky
a win is a fucking win... shouldn't even be about fucking rounds that was counted AFTER the game was over... silly
wNv 2 losses and yet they pull through becuz of round difference...... rofl
but anyways... it's still crap with this round difference thing. bo3 ftw + lower bracket !
it can be one of the teams best maps and the other teams worst map.... and then they're out of the WCG just cuz they got the bad map. therefore it should be bo3.
and if 2 teams meet at one map wich is one of the teams best maps and the other teams worst map and its bo1 single elim... then their fucked...
you do realize that don't you ?
Maybe the word you chose is not correct, just maybe...
no one likes a tournament to be decided on how many rounds you got compared to the others...... people only care about wich teams beat who.
fnatic beat wNv. wNw beat Firegamers. Firegamers beat fnatic.
instead of round counting... there should of been bo3 OR theese 3 teams replaying their matches all over. if it's this even... it shouldn't be decided by rounds...
bo3 ftw !
it could of easily been anyone of theese teams that left the WCG... but unfortunately for FG it was them... but it could of been fnatic and it could of been wNv.
it's heartbreakingly random !
Fair is fair. It's not random, it's cs ;-)
bo3 is never random. bo1 sure IS RANDOM !!!
