Manuel 'GrubbY' Schenkhuizen had two back-to-back matches on the mainstage which given his popularity in China was a logical decision. One of the two matches for the WCG reigning champion was against SK Gaming's Du Seop 'WhO' Chang, who played poorly and practically gave Grubby the first seed on a plate.

Grubby who was caught out in the cold in the best-of-1 at ESWC Cheonan cruised to take 1st place with 12 points in his group, whilst Du Seop 'WhO' Chang sealed his 2nd place in his last match against Terror from Poland.

Following his match Grubby decided to walk directly to the crowd instead of going out via the back of the stage but after some particularly pushy fans did whatever it took to reach the Dutchman, the two security guards decided it was time for him to leave. Grubby then headed to the press area as fans tried to find the quickest route to the get the photo they wanted, with even a WCG volunteer joining in until he was told by his superior "volunteer this is not a good time to be taking photos."
