SK faces rematch against x6 for grand finals spot

ImageSK's European squad has just defeated coL BMHS to claim keep themselves in the running for MLG Anaheim.

In impressive 3-0 fashion, SK Gaming EUROPE kept their hopes alive by defeating the new Complexity squad of compLexity BHMS. The Americans surprised everyone by making it to bracket play this weekend, but were no match for SK in the lower bracket game. Having already lost 4-1 earlier in the event, it was always going to be an uphill struggle for coL. That was the way it turned out, as SK ran out 3-0 winners in the shadowcleave mirror match.

SK had been sent to the lower bracket in a narrow 2-3 game against Button Bashers . The Koreans played supremely well, making some incredible swaps in the blink of an eye. It was near impossible for Alexis 'Enigmz' Martin to keep his teammates alive and that proved the difference in the three games that BB won.

In the final, Naehyun 'Orangemarmalade' Kang and his team continued their momentum, taking a 1-0 lead on the first map against CheckSix . The second game went on much longer, with BB managing to kite out the big cooldowns. An almost instant Mass Dispel onto the bubble of Michael 'Toez' Edwards was followed up by a Counterspell which meant death for Huy 'Flexxorz' Nguyen and a 2-0 lead for the rogue/mage/priest team.

Game three put x6 on the board, despite the Koreans surviving cooldowns yet again. Orangemarmalade even managed to Spellsteal Bloodlust from one player but after his first iceblock, the beastcleave simply blew him up. Game four brought up Ruins of Lordaeron and a Flare on the rogue. The rest of the game was almost identical to the previous one, with the Americans blowing up the mage once again.

With the pressure mounting into the fifth and final game, BB could not have been happy to see Ruins pop up again. But with more kiting and some amazingly coordinated crowd control, BB were able to pick up the all-important 3-2 win.

They will now have the advantage in the final, where they will face the winner of SK-vs-x6. Check Six already defeated SK this weekend, but it was a close-run 3-2 victory, meaning that the upcoming consolation final could go either way.
