The Koreans from Button Bashers are sitting pretty at the top of MLG's group stage with just three games to go.Button Bashers are in a sweet spot right now, topping the group with an unbeaten record. The Koreans have been run close every time but showed some real determination by turning 2-2 games into 3-2 wins every time. Victories over both SK teams have helped them to the top of the group.
The other remaining 100% record is held by CheckSix right now. They have yet to face SK Gaming EUROPE or BB, but three wins from three is still an impressive record. On top of that, each of their games ended 4-1 or better so far, putting their round difference (+11) far ahead of anyone else.
The team that gave x6 their 5-0 victory was SK Gaming USA. The American squad has had a torrid time so far, losing four games out of four. Despite some narrow 2-3 defeats, SK are all but eliminated from the tournament right now. Still, a win in the all-SK battle later on could restore some pride.
As for SK's European squad, it has been a tale of missed opportunities. A show-stopping 5-0 win in the opening game has been enough to keep them in or around the top four so far. But two losses in the next games has left them in a precarious position. With four games left, Valent 'another' Sebastijan and his team will be looking for at least three wins in order to qualify for finals day.
