Arena points for battlegrounds on PTR
Blizzard has added arena points to the battleground daily quests.

Blizzard has added arena points to the battleground daily quests.Another round of changes went live on the Public Test Realm today. Most of them have no effect on arena, such as Warlock's Infernals and Shaman's Elementals having their cooldown reduced. But one little line of text could prove to be a pretty huge change on live realms:
"All level 71-80 Battleground daily quests will now award 25 Arena points in addition to their current rewards."
This will help to level the playing field in terms of gear, but it will also undoubtedly lead to cries of "casual" from the hardcore.
Elsewhere, one change that will have some effect on competitive play is yet more changes to the troublesome Paladin class. The heal-over-time effect of FOL will now only be available to deep holy Paladins via the Infusion of Light talent. Aura mastery also received a slight nerf from 10 seconds duration to six.

At least that's true if you ignore class imbalance -_-;
Blizzard having been selling out for some time now, and the proof of that, is the crap they have turned WoW in... they have been worrying so much in making theyr casual public happy, that they are turning WoW in an easy crap game... raid bosses that are downed on first day, after 2 or 3 tries, raid gear bought with heroic badges, arena points on dailys... the list goes on and on...
This change will affect them in no way whatsover. In other words, this will have no impact on wow as an e-sport.
But this change, however, just stuppifies the game further, and, have no doubt,it will continue to go in this direction until one of the best games ever made has turned into pointless rubish for any moron using 1% of his brain....
gwt_ds_carw, exactly what i mean, Blizzard has been turning wow to a point where people have to do no effort whatsoever.
SK|Zechs, you failed to see my point... the point is, Blizzard has been making stuff so easy, that people no longer need to put a minimum effort for most things, and thats what is turning WoW into crap.
WoW was never a game where skill could compensate for the lack of gear, especially in pvp, which made sense before, because you actually had to put in a tramendous effort and a considerable amount of time to get it-thus,you were rewarded. Now,things have changed.Pretty much everything is available to anyone, both in pvp and pve.
Now,for wow to become a true e-sport,ppl should have the access to any gear,so that they are not handicapped before the match even starts.True, but it's easy enough to get it already, further simplification just makes it easier for bad players(due to less time spent on playing or just the lack of talent) to get the gear they don't deserve. That's not just an issue of fairness, and here's why:
Luck plays a huge roll in WoW.1 lucky dodge, parry, miss, crit can change the outcome of the whole game-the importance of skill decreases.Give everyone the same gear-the importance of skill shrinks further...
''Having gear make such a difference to the game only hurts it as an esport.''
Yes he did
blizz is ruining the best thing about pvp for years aka arena. It will get even more shit in cataclysm where rated bgs will reward arena points aswell
Fucking /WRIST / CRY /KILL NIGGER BLIZZ FUCING GHOSTCRAWLER
Read before posting...
Commit suicide you worthless garbage.
And about the insult... it just shows up how some people just aren't intelligent enough to maintain a decent argument around here...
My insult still stands.
Your insult stands, and you just prove my point even more.
If you want to simply refuse to believe that then that's your own stupidity... no point in arguing when someone clearly can't think besides personal hate for something, have fun.
''Although on the topic of arena points in BG's making it more accessible to get in and compete (the part that matters to pvpers) is a good change.''
This is a change directed towards the casual players, who therefore, have abosulutely no intention of competing at a pro lvl,and quite possibly, have no idea that such a thing even exists. It will have no effect on wow neither as an e-sport,nore as a competetive game.
The sole purpose of this change is to ensure blizzard doesn't lose subscribers due to huge requirements in terms of time commited to playing.
