With both teams facing the disappointment and humiliation of being completely destroyed in their semi-final games SK Gaming and Vitriolic Gaming pl had the opportunity to prove something in the 3rd place playoff game. Despite the scorelines it was SK who were the driving force of both of these games when it mattered, winning the majority of both in the first half and then grinding out the needed rounds in the second half against a Vitriolic side struggling to maintain some dignity in Dubai after playing so well yesterday.

SK Gaming 16:10 Vitriolic Gaming pl (inferno 11:4, 5:6)

SK immediately jumped on Vitriolic and ran the score all the way up to 10:1 as CT before Vitriolic responded and won the next three rounds. SK won the last round, thanks in part to walle's deagle antics, and took a very solid 11:4 into the half. The second half saw Vitriolic finding some life and taking a turn to run off some rounds, they got the half to 6:0 in their favour before SK came back. From there on out it was all SK and the map went in their favour. One round saw neo with some excellent AWPing only for face's three kills to decide the outcome of the round.

SK Gaming 16:14 Vitriolic Gaming pl (nuke 13:2, 3:12)

SK continued to run hot as they put up 5:0 unanswered on Vitriolic. The tone of their CT half was really set when allen spammed a Vitriolic guy who had been on the roof spamming and killed him. Vitriolic took a round back but SK quickly resumed their unstoppable defensive game and pumped the score all the way up to 12:1, with RobbaN winning a nice 1v2 on the 12th round where he was attacked after the first he killed and forced to hit a sprayed headshot onto the last enemy. Vitriolic managed to take two rounds and end the half 13:2 in the Swedes' favours.

As CT Vitriolic locked in and started to really give it their all, the score getting up to 7:0 on the back of great play from neo and his team-mates. SK won a round to put them two away from victory but Vitriolic were not done just yet. SK had to wait a number of rounds to get their second round win and put the game to game point but on the 16th round their victory came. On the 15th neo had displayed some last gasp heroics winning a 1v2, the final kill coming on allen who had come out of the hut at upper.

Despite some moments where they got it together Vitriolic were very much on the losing side of all the battles worth noting and losing 0 maps to 2 to finish 4th when they had been expected to really push MYM in their semi-final is a disappointment any way you cut it. For SK they get some redemption and perhaps can think themselves unlucky fnatic played so poorly early in their group stage and faced them in the semi-final instead of the final.

The final will be played at 17:15 CET apparently.
