MYM stun Vitriolic in 38 rounds

ImagePoland's two-time ESWC champions immediately bow out of the Global Challenge Dubai semi-final after MYM run all over them.

Meet Your Makers swe's group stage performance may have been shocking and surprising to many but their semi-final result will have left even the most hardened CS veterans in stunned silence. Utterly obliterating Vitriolic Gaming pl in two straight maps, needing only 38 rounds to do it, MYM are headed to what will be an all Swedish final as they await the winner of SK and fnatic from the other semi final.

Meet Your Makers swe 16:1 Vitriolic Gaming pl (inferno 14:1, 2:0)

MYM's inferno CT side began in great fashion as they rushed up to 8:0, with AWPer Delpan pulling off seemingly every shot he needed to. Vitriolic looked rattled and called a timeout to discuss things. When the game restarted that timeout talk seemed to have been entirely forgotten as MYM continued their semi-final romp at the expense of the Poles and the score got all the way up to 14:0. Vitriolic managed to win the last round to keep the smallest glimmer of hope alive on the map.

That was extinguished when MYM won the pistol round and the following round to win the whole game outright and leave Poland's finest Counter-Strike players wondering how they went from winning ESWCs to being the victims of up and coming sides like this deep in a tournament.

Meet Your Makers swe 16:5 Vitriolic Gaming pl (nuke 13:2, 3:3)

If Vitriolic were shocked by their first map loss they needed to buckle down and get to work on nuke but apparently the message didn't get through or MYM had no plans of returning to earth and losing rounds. Regardless of where Vitriolic attempted to hit, whether it be a slow ramp push or a fast upper rush or a timed outside push, it didn't matter as MYM either killed them outright or rotated at the most opportune time allowing them to spray Vitriolic players down immediately upon seeing them. The score was 7:1 before Vitriolic could get on the board. That the Poles lone round had come when they had been 5v1 against pita and he still killed four with headshots said a lot about the tone of the game.

If that lone round seemed like an invitation to take more and get back in the game Vitriolic couldn't take it or MYM rescinded it, the score was pushed up to 13:1. Vitriolic managed to win the last round, thanks to LUq and Neo doing their thing finally and killing players at the right time of a round. Switching to CT Vitriolic even managed to win the pistol round and the next two, the score now standing at 3:0. MYM immediately shot back up, like a balloon held under water and released, winning the next two and the map and the game.

In a shocking game, the reverberations of which will be felt for months to come, MYM managed to annihilate one of Counter-Strike's elite teams and play with their entire team on the a high level for two straight maps. Now they will really face a challenge as they get the best team in the world regardless of who makes it to the finals to face them.

The final is scheduled to take place at 17:45 CET.
