SK's orc star, WhO, will meet WCG's defending champion, Grubby, in the first group stage at this year's finals.Du Seop 'WhO' Chang will face a tough task in his first group stage as he takes on defending WCG champion, Manuel 'GrubbY' Schenkhuizen. The pair have only rarely met each other in previous tournaments, with Grubby holding a 3-1 advantage overall. Luckily for one of the orc players, two will qualify from each group but such an exciting match so early on bodes well for the tournament.
Two-time WCG champion, Xiaofeng 'Sky' Li might have a trickier task but should still finish top of Group E. He will have to overcome some early obstacles in the shape of Marc 'yAwS' Förster and Valentin 'Majestic' Kosorovcev. Fellow-countryman and human player, Xuwen 'InFi' Wang will have a slightly easier but still not dead-set challenge when he faces both Phil 'LongWalk' Crawford and Nikita 'NapS' Shatokhin in Group D.
Elsewhere, the groups look fairly straight forward, with players like Weiliang 'Fly100%' Lu and Jae Ho 'Moon' Jang looking like guaranteed qualifiers. SK's other WCG player, June 'Lyn' Park should have an especially comfortable time, meeting three much lesser-known players in Group G. Only Aleksandar 'Padash' Tarbuk in the group is likely to be known to most SK readers.
