The Dutch orc player has won his local WCG qualifier, despite already being qualified as defending champion.Manuel 'GrubbY' Schenkhuizen has claimed victory in the Dutch WCG qualifier by defeating Lennart 'SushiLicious' Roest 2-0. The orc star was already qualified for the grand finals by virtue of being last year's champion. Sushi will presumably take the slot, but there is no official statement on the subject yet.
Grubby's victory may have been an empty gesture, but he becomes the third member of Evil Geniuses to win his local qualifier. He will be joined in Chengdu later this year by both René 'Ciara' Krag and Dmitriy 'Happy' Kostin.
The only surprise of the event was the absence of Kevin 'RotterdaM' van der Kooi. Rumours about a move to Heroes of Newerth were put forward by MYM but again, there is no official word. Others have suggested that he has retired to take up full time commentary but for the time being he is stilled under the Serious Gaming tag on IRC.
The group drawing for WCG's Warcraft tournament will place tomorrow (October 21).

That at least leaves the chance for some german and swedish players.
I tend to disagree. Grubby has no competition in Holland, whereas there are several players in Korea in China which could (although the chances are below 50%) beat him. On the other hand, it's impressive that an internationally successful player comes from a non wc3 country.
He only wanted to play if he recieved some money for it by the organisation.
Talk about lame shitty reasons to dodge grubby. Fame gets to high in some people heads.
Would you practice 10 hours a day if there was no money on the line ?

If you know anything from marketing, these guys are playing on stage and on national television. This is free exposure for your sponsors, which pleases them (especially in these times!) and could bring your more money.
2nd. Your mindset blows me, but i guess people sometimes here aren't to bright in their heads are they. This was the WCG Qualifiers which could also bring you to money.
