Noctis takes third place at Dubai

ImageBoth Fox and Noctis got beaten in their semi-final and both were hungry for a win, but only one could get third place. After four equal maps Noctis was able to walk away with $800 and a third place.

After having been defeated by Shane 'rapha' Hendrixson, Richard 'noctis' Gansterer was very hungry for a third place. He had to face Magnus 'fox' Olsson who had just been beaten by Alexei 'Cypher' Yanushevsky and seemed to have lost the great shape he showed during the group stage.

Starting on Tourney9, it was Noctis who took control and he held it until only a few minutes were remaining. Once he lost control he had a good amount of frags and could use some good defensive play to his advantage, winning the first map. They continued into Ztn where Fox showed that he can do better than his performance against Cypher. While he wasn't always in control, he was pulling out shots that stopped Noctis from getting any momentum and could take home the map.

Noctis got the good spawn on Tourney7 but some smart play from Fox put them on equal ground. However, this time it was Noctis who pulled out the good shots, stopping Fox. With only four minutes left it all repeated itself and while this time Fox was able to put out the shots, Noctis played aggressively after spawning and got a counter kill and the map.

On DM13, Fox quickly put himself in a bad situation and Noctis took the advantage. However Fox quickly recovered and got control of the map. But in quake situations changes fast and in no time at all Noctis had got control, lost it and a frag. Some smart play by Noctis would put him in control again and a disappointed Fox had to go home with a fourth place.

3rd. Richard 'noctis' Gansterer $800
4th. Magnus 'fox' Olsson $400
