One really wishes there was a way to enforce a standard within tournaments though, which is something I think G7 are striving to do.

Well I for one hope they do it, but they need to be in agreement with one of the major tournament holders first, to lay down a standard. To me the only people who would be upto such a task are ESL, even with all their major flaws they seem to listen to the gaming public and pro's a lot more than others.

I was shocked that ESL and KODE5 still had to pay out after reading this, but if you read the comments further down ESL have arranged payment and KODE5 have arranged a way of paying them also. Its not all bad, though if i was a pro and this was my only line of income other than a teams wages (which are usually small compared to what you can earn in the real world, unfortunately) I'd be quite worried, its hard to support yourself on bit payments. I guess this is why Tentpole stood down.
