Following on the heels of their WCG disappointment compLexity have removed AWPer Scott "evolution" Cavallero and replaced him with Thomas "thoMz" Garcia, most recently of Turmoil. One of America's top teams, compLexity, have made a roster move as they have removed Scott 'evolution' Cavallero and replaced him with Thomas 'thoMz' Garcia. This move is not entirely a surprise as evolution was the most recent member to join the team and thoMz was a member of the team back when it was x3o and placed 2nd at the EM III American continental finals.
coL's in-game leader, Andrew 'Irukandji' Timmerman, told SK-gaming the reasons behind making this change:
Asked why he would leave his previous team, Turmoil, thoMz told GotFrag:
coL's new lineup:
Andrew 'Irukandji' Timmerman
Ryan 'NineSpot' Bell
Jeff 'hero' Mettetal
Derek 'dboorN' Boorn
Thomas 'thoMz' Garcia
coL had been within the discussion for best North American Counter-Strike team recently, vying for that title along with EG.usa and Turmoil. However, coL's inability to attend events like GameGune Mexico, ESWC Cheonan and the recent EM Global Challenge Chengdu due to prior commitments with further education has cast a little doubt on their legitimacy as the best team within that region though. Added to that was their disappointing form at the recent WCG USA qualifier which saw them beaten by Turmoil in the semi-finals of the upper bracket and then eliminated by rivals EG.usa.
evolution is one of the most well known American AWPers of the modern era. Playing with eMg/EG he was a part of his country's best team for a number of years, though not without a brief spell playing for MoB after he was removed. In recent times he was a part of the FragDominant/WinOut team before joining up with coL in June and moving into their gaming house. With Turmoil apparently in trouble, EG a deadend for him and few other teams with reasonable sponsorship behind them the future is now one big question mark for evolution.
While thoMz was not a member of coL in name he was a core member of the team when they were called x3o and were considered the best team in North America. He was then part of a straight player swap which saw him head to Gravitas (who later became Turmoil) and mehLer go the other way from Gravitas to x3o. As a member of Gravitas thoMz helped them to the best record amongst North American teams at EM III global finals in May with a victory over XLBET.Mirror and a tie with MiBr. Gravitas followed that up by winning the Kode5 USA qualifier to establish themselves as the new US #1s. Unfortunately difficulty with a passport led to the Kode5 spot passing them over and going to EG.usa. The team were also not invited to ESWC Cheonan and have had little competition since. At GameGune Mexico recently the team finished 3rd losing two overtime games in the upper bracket to EG.usa, the eventual winners.

coL's in-game leader, Andrew 'Irukandji' Timmerman, told SK-gaming the reasons behind making this change:
"In making this move, we are looking to improve our motivation, teamwork, and communication. We don't want Evolution to be viewed as a scapegoat for us not doing well at WCG USA as that was a flaw of the entire team, not one player (not to mention Evolution has played extremely well for us during his time with coL). From playing with thoMz in the past and watching his impact for Turmoil at the last few LANs, we have a lot of confidence that this addition will strengthen our team in many areas."
Asked why he would leave his previous team, Turmoil, thoMz told GotFrag:
"Basically I don't think we had proper funding to get to the events we wanted to attend. Bruin(Mike) is a good guy and helped us ALOT in Mexico but asking for him to pay for us to certain events plus money out of our pockets, it was just plain too much for me at least. On top of that talks were already made about certain people quitting Turmoil after this year."
