Excuse me if i explained my point of view incorrectly... What is meant is that Dota will probably suffer from the arrival of new games with better graphics. It happenned to starcraft when Warcraft 3 came out, although starcraft is still played. It happenned to Counter strike 1.6 when games such as CS:Source, COD4 and many more came out... And I fear that with the coming of Starcraft 2 and HoN and LoL, warcraft 3's "DOTA" will be suffering of the loss of many players.

I don't think the European and Asian gaming scenes care too much about graphics to be honest. And I don't think DotA will lose players, as it will remain "free" while the counterparts will not.

Vorqk, Warcraft III was not nearly close in popularity to StarCraft so I'd beg a differ.

Sorry if you misunderstood me. I'm not trying to sound indignant, I'm just making an example of the relation that StarCraft had to Warcraft III and how history likes to repeat itself.

all of those games you mentioned are pretty much dead now. so.. *cough*.. i wouldnt be too worried. maybe suffer at first and shine later? never thought of dota as anything competitive anyway though. Just a fun custom for me

I dunno about LoL but HoN is still going strong with 25k players, which i think is good for that genre.
