Due to a sudden surge in stocks that are sending Electronic Arts global, new talk is emerging about the top publisher being acquired by Microsoft Corp.Earlier this afternoon, the stocks of Electronic Arts (EA) had a shocking increase of 8.1 percent. Following this market surge, there is now unsubstantiated talk of Microsoft Corp acquring the video game publisher.
However, there is some debate over whether or not EA could be a potential target for Microsoft. Frederic Ruffy, an options strategist from New York, explained, "There's talk that Microsoft might be interested in acquiring Electronic Arts. It's unsubstantiated chatter, but it's out there."
To further deride these claims, Trip Chowdhry of Global Equities Research claimed that his contacts from Microsoft have shown no intentions of acquiring EA. In response to an inquiry issued by Reuters.com, he wrote, "Our contacts just don't see Microsoft buying Electronic Arts, no synergies whatsoever, and also not Microsoft's corporate primary focus right now."
Recent analyses reveal that smaller video game publishers have been having the largest increases in stocks, indicating them as possible targets for becoming part of Microsoft Game Studios. Most notable of these in the past include Lionhead Studios and Bungie Studios.

Just so long as nobody touches DC, I'll be alright.
There will be so much time exclusives, normal exclusives, exclusive download content etcetc, its a big deal, and it will hurt.
Exceptional titles on the other hand would more than likely see timed exclusives since those particular niches are harder to fill.
How is this good for Sony?

Exactly, and alot of ppl are looking towards the exclusive titles when choosing what console to buy, they might not be huge "mill games", but in the long run, if a consumer picks one console over another, they will buy other games for that console as well, and the ball is rolling.
So again, if anyone thinks this is good for Sony, feel free to tell me in what way.
dumbass.
NHL, FIFA, dead space, mass effect, dragon age, fight night, madden... if we count the titles that sells huge numbers but might be good in everyones eyes, there is alot more :)
Personally i think that if this happen it will be good, and maybe with the experience that microsoft has, EA will be able to make games better.
