36 teams from the Pro series or national cups who did not quality directly for the Extreme Masters championship (or round two) will now compete in round 1 of the international draw. Win here and move on for a chance to qualify, lose and it's all over until next season. With qualification for the Extreme Masters European championship via domestic competitions recently the international draw is upon us as the teams unable to grab more direct spots vie for the chance to move on. The draws for round one have been released and these teams will be competing to decide who gets a shot at qualifying. The winners move on where they will play again while the losers are out.
The matchups:

While at first glance there may seem to be a lot of unknown teams for casual fans there are certainly some interesting squads hoping to progress. The Ukraine's A-gaming is still pretty much the side who took home bronze medals at the 2007 WCG, albeit less successful in the last couple of years. France's d4 contains some of the best French players of all time such as OliGan and MaYeRs. Sweden's wooSai have been in competition domestically recently and are known for their player Alexander "fury" Nyström who has gained fame through his frag movies. Spain's Ledpc took 4th at the recent GameGune event in July, beating fan favourites DTS.chatrix along the way.
