Blight, who recently added aZn and Nepo so as to compete at the WCG USA qualifier, have released their Counter-Strike 1.6 team. Apparently many of them will be attending the WCG qualifier regardless. It was only earlier this week that Blight announcement the removal of Jon "mediaN" Gundy and the pickup of two American players so as to attend the WCG USA qualifier, something French star David "Xp3" Garrido could not do due to nationality. With those two players being Kevin "aZn" Wang and Fadil "Nepo" Canovic many were looking at Blight as a team very much on the up and up. It seems all was not well though as a mixture of practice issues and a player being unavailable for that WCG qualifier has led to the team's dismissal.
blackfoger, Blight's manager and owner, told GotFrag:
In a statement released later to fnatic he elaborated:
The name Blight may not be well known by non-Americans but their final roster was one filled with well known names. mehLer was prime time player for the old x3o/Gravitas and the newer x3o (who have since become coL) Xp3 made a name for himself playing for France's aAa and d4 before moving to North America. aZn was a member of the zEx side which upset the might coL at the WCG USA qualifier in 2006. Nepo was a member of EG.usa's previous squad which was based around the eMg core. All in all a collection of talent who has been hanging around the top 5 US teams for some time now, Xp3 excluded naturally, but has yet to find a stable home where they can build on past successes.
The departing Blight gaming CS team:
Dustin "dizzaman" Dilyerd
Chris "truls" Navratil
Dan "mehLer" Mehler
David "Xp3" Garrido
Kevin "aZn" Wang (WCG stand-in)
Fadil "Nepo" Canovic (WCG stand-in)

blackfoger, Blight's manager and owner, told GotFrag:
"We will be releasing our USA team due to the fact they have been unable to maintain a starting five as well as due to their lack of practice. Additionally, Dustin "dizzaman" Dilyerd would have been unable to attend WCG USA due to school."
In a statement released later to fnatic he elaborated:
"When we initially got Dizzaman's crew from eMazing Gaming with some complications, we received a professional team. After the arrival of median and melher the squad was looking fine for a while with some solid practice and wins. Still, with the loss of median and without a solid fifth replacement, the team seemed to practice a lot less and was not putting effort into preparations for WCG USA. After purchasing tickets for WCG we were willing to stick with the team to pull through and give us a good performance for WCG usa. But recently dustin told us the team was pretty much dead and he didn't want to miss school for WCG, so we knew the team had to sadly be dropped. Nepo, quas, azn, melher and truls will be going to WCG usa but not as blight.usa. They are a great squad of players and very smart."

Back on topic, good article :)
Jeez, once for all, those players should try and become more serious... all the changes that happens there aren't going to help them eventually.
USA has tons of talented players, they can build around 4-5 top teams easily, but that's not going to happen in the near future since it turned to be something permanent (changing lineups, and organisations that kicks their squads due to x and y reasons).
GL American scene, I hope you will finally change... some day.
what are u guys in the 20th century?? blame your computer for having you sit behind it and have no life..
