On Sunday a whole host of well known names in the Warcraft III world such as ReMiNd, FoCuS and Shy will battle it out for qualification to the Global Challenge Chengdu. As mentioned in previous updates on the invite list of the EM IV Global Challenge Chengdu the eight invited Warcraft III players will be joined by four qualified challengers. ESL have now released the bracket for said qualifier and it will see the likes of ReMiNd, FoCuS, SocceR and Shy battling for those coveted spots. SK players Check and whO will also be hoping to make it and join their team-mate Lyn in China. Fans will no doubt be closely following the results to see who will get to go on the Chengdu and face Moon, Sky and company.
It's not merely a case of qualifying though for these players. The 32 player qualifier will see the final four players receive travel support to help them in attending the Chengdu event, of differing amounts depending on where they are located. Players from China will receive $250, players from Asia but not China $500 and players from the rest of the world $750. It is worth noting that players will receive this money afterwards though, rather than before the event.
The tournament is single elimination and best-of-3 with a playoff for 3rd place.
The schedule for the matches, in CET, is:
Upper bracket start: 15:00, Sun 6th
Upper bracket final: 19:00, Sun 6th
Third place playoff start: 19:00, Sun 6th
Consolation final: 19:00, Sun 6th
You can find out more by checking the bracket for the qualifier which SK-gaming will be updating as the tournament progresses on Sunday.
