Korean Wc3 superstar Moon joins the list of participants for the Global Challenge in Chengdu along with his fellow countrymen in WeMadeFox and the South Americans of Made in Brazil. The invitations for Global Challenge Chengdu continue apace as they see legendary Korean player Jae Ho 'Moon' Jang added to the Warcraft 3 side of things. For Counter-Strike the highly explosive and difficult to read WeMadeFox will attend, introduced alongside the always popular Made in Brazil.
Jae Ho 'Moon' Jang has a list of accomplishments as long as a giraffe's leg. Three time champion of WEG, four time WWW champion and more recently, in 2008, the winner of both the Blizzard Worldwide Invitational and IEF. 2009 has seen less prolific success as Moon placed 4th at the EM III Continental Finals Asia, only 5th-8th at ESWC Masters Cheonan and 4th at e-Stars Seoul 2009. He did, however, win the EOG South Korea Preliminary and the WCG Korea Finals.
WeMadeFox have been impressing Counter-Strike fans and players alike from the days some of their players went under the tags of project.kr through to eSTRO. As the aforementioned project.kr they took 2nd at WEG season 2 and 3rd at WEG Masters. In 2008, as eSTRO, they placed 2nd at the Extreme Masters Season 2 Finals and ESWC finals as well as placed 3rd at both the WEM and WCG. In 2009 the Koreans have not been as successful so far as despite placing 2nd at the EM III Continental Finals Asia and e-Stars Seoul they only managed 5th-6th atthe EM III Global Finals and 5th-8th at ESWC Masters Cheonan. Most recently they were also surprisingly upset at WCG Korea by eq.wind.
MiBr have always been a popular team with fans due to their highly erratic style of play which could see them beat any top team on a single map due to their incredible ability to gain momentum and run off 8 or 9 round win streaks. The amazing AWPing of cogu and the streaky but very effective rifling of fnx also ensured HLTVs were filled when the Brazilians came to play. A victory at ESWC in 2006 saw the Brazilian reach an all time high and finally get over the hump of going deep but being unable to close out big touraments. Cogu then departed to play football temporarily leading to bit1 being brought in to captain the team.
That edition of MiBr was able to achieve similar but less prestiguous success by winning Dreamhack in 2007. In 2008 the team won GameGune, placed 2nd at EM III LA and 3rd at EM III Montreal. They helped round out the year by winning the EM III Continental Finals America. Since then though roster shakeups and personal differences among a number of key player has seen number players going back and forth between Brazil's top three teams. There will be many questions for this latest lineup of MiBr, especially following some rather quirky results domestically. Whether they can answer these questions come the Global Challenge is something fans will have to wait to find out at the beginning of October.
