In an InStarCraft.de interview StarCraft II's Lead 3D Artist, Allen Dilling, it has been revealed that the German version of the game will have much less gore.It is unclear as of now what specifically the changes for the German edition of the upcoming RTS will actually be. However, the two most-viable candidates as of now are either to change the color or to tone it down altogether.
According to Allen Dilling, the changes applied will be much more minute than what fans would prematurely conclude. The alterations to the Protoss would range from either scare to none at all, considering that their only visible blood is blue and the rest of the units either are robotic or simply dissipate. The terrans would need minor tweaking, as well, because only a small number of their ground units give off red blood. The zerg, however, are in for the most changes. Every single one of their units and structures die in a bloody fashion and may need some alterations.
Currently, Blizzard Entertainment is working for the German rating board to prohibit the game to minors under the age of twelve. However, this is much smaller than Blizzard's other concern which would be Diablo III. Currently, there is a new parental control being implemented to tone down the blood and gore in their other upcoming title.

(unfortunately only in german =( )
Sounds great!
I ll by my StarCraft 2 from http://www.amazon.co.uk/ not from the German amazon site.
They can suck my... because they destroy the game with changing the blood thingy.
So no problem for me. PPL just buy it from amazon.co.uk where is the problem?...
the problem is u have to wait for a few days till ur game comes to you at home.
I think u all can wait... u waited alot for sc2 so u can wait a few more days too.
luckily there are onlineshops in austria and the UK :)
No offence but it wasn't Blizzard's fault to change some things to please German people when they request it.
you think it makes us fun to see another blood colour? while I know other guys in other countries plays with the original?
You are talking shit.
We are also humans... we have the same right to play with the original.
whatever.. like I said... I ll buy sc2 from amazon.co.uk.
The game changes don't concern anyone with the will and means to get the game elsewhere, which would be anybody who cares about the changes to begin with. It's just pathetic as usual that they censor stuff like insects exploding. Look outside anywhere and you see 5 year old kids squashing and roasting ants...
