The tournament entitled Trophy of Legends will be played out purely online with 24 players in total, twelve old school players versus twelve professional gamers of the current day. The 24 participants will be divided into four groups of six players, with two groups for old school players and two groups for currently active players, and the top two of each group progressing to the playoffs.

The first four old school players to be revealed are WCG2003 winner and former SK Gaming veteran Zdravko 'Insomnia' Georgiev, German tower master Christopher 'Tak3r' Heil, early Warcraft3 star Dae Ho 'ShowTime' Kim and former MYM captain Jung Ki 'Susiria' Oh.

The modern day pro gamers enlisted to participate are WCG Silver medalist Jae Ho 'Moon' Jang, BlizzCon2009 winner June 'Lyn' Park, as well as Sung Hyun 'Space' Park and Mykhaylo 'HoT' Novopashyn.

Trophy of Legends will be announcing four more players for their competition each day over the course of the next three days days, leading up to the unveiling of their website on Friday. The Trophy of Legends will have 4,500 euros prize purse split amongst the top four finalists, with 2,250 euros for first place. To find out more about the league read our interview with Ange.

"Well we are organising the unprecedented event "The Trophy of Legends" in the honor of great names that rose Electronic Sport one step higher, old time legends and active progamers," said the man behind the project Laurent "Ange" Blum in an interview on SK Gaming, "after which time we aim to open a grand Starcraft2 league." The start date for the Trophy of Legends is only a week away on the 7th September.
