Further details regarding the Extreme Masters Global Challenge stop-off in Chengdu have been announced including the three chosen titles and a $65,000 prize purse. The three titles are Counter-Strike, Warcraft3 and surprisingly Defence of the Ancients. Counter-strike finds itself with a modest $40,000 prize purse and twelve participating teams, whilst Defence of the Ancients outclasses Warcraft3 with $15,000 for only four teams.
Warcraft3, which ESL chose to drop as an official title of the Extreme Masters competition for the last two seasons has $12,000 and twelve participating players. Furthermore ESL revealed that the winner of the Counter-Strike Chinese Global Challenge will automatically qualify themselves for the World Championship to be held at CEBIT next year.
Both Warcraft3 and DotA are not official games of the Extreme Masters and their tournaments at Chengdu will not culminate in a grand final at CEBIT, but instead are to be considered stand-alone events. ESL organised a similar invite tournament at the EM Chengdu stop in January where four Warcraft3 stars; June 'Lyn' Park, Jae Ho 'Moon' Jang, Manuel 'GrubbY' Schenkhuizen and Xiaofeng 'Sky' Li were invited for a one-off event.
Defence of the Ancients and Warcraft3 are the two most popular eSports titles in China which makes their addition to the Global Challenge a logical one. The Global Challenge Chengdu will take place 1st-3rd October, with the WCG2009 Grand Finals to be held in the same location only a month later.

1) Half of the wc3 pro-gamers have retired, therefore less entertainment,
2) WC3 is quite old already, it is at its end, not it's beginning, unlike DOTA(competitive age),
3) DOTA requires a team, therefore has a bigger community(math-wise),
4) SC3 comes out next year, therefore WC3 bill be forgotten the day SC3 hits the stores..and torrents.
But after all, that's my own opinion, so take it easy.
Let dota be played... it's funny to play it! (maybe not that much to see it being played... but...)
