Chinese WoTLK finally on the horizon

World of Warcraft's second expansion, Wrath of The Lich King has faced many release problems in China. But Game Industry.biz is reporting that Blizzard may finally be on the home stretch.

"We're working with the government to get the final approvals," Blizzard's head of International Operations, Michael Ryder told the website. "We've made a tremendous amount of progress in a short period of time in transitioning from one partner to another in going to NetEase."

Blizzard even set their new Battle.net system loose on the Chinese public. "We've transitioned everyone over to the Battle.net account management system, which has been a big success for us as well," said Ryder. However, the real issue with WoTLK's release was the Chinese government's crackdown on foreign games. Never the less, Blizzard seemed confident: "We feel pretty good about the progress we've made, and hopefully we'll be getting the rest of the approvals we need in the near future."
