Admins quizzed as ZOTAC celebrates 100th birthday

Last weekend ZOTAC Cup celebrated its 100th tournament, and admins Koik and Vash shared their thoughts on the competition thus far and their plans for the future.

"At this very moment there is no need to evolve the ZOTAC WC3 cup in any way. [...] We think the ZOTAC WC3 Cup is a great experience the way it is just now"
The reccuring theme of the interview is that ZOTAC has and will remain aimed at catering for players of all skill level, and not focus purely on professional players.

"The idea behind the ZOTAC Cups in general and especially the WarCraft 3 cup we are hosting is to reach players of every skill level around the world and to give them the opportunity to compete on a professional level," said Koik and Vash to EsportsFrance. "So at this very moment there is no need to evolve the ZOTAC WC3 cup in any way or make it a qualifying phase for other tournaments as we think the ZOTAC WC3 Cup is a great experience the way it is just now."

Evil Genius duo Manuel 'GrubbY' Schenkhuizen and Dmitriy 'Happy' Kostin were both asked on their feelings about the 100th birthday of ZOTAC, but shared very different views about the weekly competition. "Well I played very few zotacs during those 100, and I never liked it at all, I do not think ever would play it again," said Happy on the topic of ZOTAC. "Online tournaments, with very low prize arent worth it to spend a whole day on searching hosts and wasting nerves."

Meanwhile team-mate Grubby was more positive, "I like the cup because it functions as a weekly showcasing of skill, ideal for players who are not having a busy period and would like to earn some extra money. I toast to the 100th Warcraft 3 ZOTAC cup and am looking forward to the next 100!" You can check out the full article including the interviews and statements here.
