Fly takes gold at WCG China, Sky and Infi follow

ImageWeiliang "Fly" Lu took the $4,300 for 1st place at the Chinese WCG Qualifiers this weekend, with Xiaofeng "Sky" Li and Xuwen "infi" Wang taking silver and bronze.

Weiliang 'Fly100%' Lu got knocked down to the lower bracket after losing to Xiaofeng 'Sky' Li in the second round, and travelled a long and arduous road to earn himself a rematch against the two-times WCG winner.

Fly opened his lower-bracket journey with a match against public favourite Zhuo 'TeD' Zeng, who had suffered defeat at the hands of Xiang 'TH000' Huang in the first round. After ending hopes of WCG Grand Final in Chengdu for TeD, he then overcame two Human players, Xiang 'TH000' Huang and Xuwen 'InFi' Wang, to reach the overall final.

Orc versus Human is statistically Fly's second weakest match-up at 53%, but he polished off Sky twice making it four consecutive match wins versus Human. Fly had struggled to fend off the World Elite players with only one win from eight games against the TeD, Sky and Infi trio in the last three months, but certainly taught them a lesson this time around.

WCG China Final Standings

1. Weiliang 'Fly100%' Lu - 30,000RMB [$4,300]
2. Xiaofeng 'Sky' Li - 10,000RMB [$1,300]
3. Xuwen 'InFi' Wang - 5,000 RMB [$650]
