Each of Blizzard's steamroller series has gotten doses of enthusiasm. It was announced that StarCraft II's world editor would allow map modders to literally sell their maps to make a profit. Diablo III got a new class, (the monk). However, World of Warcraft once more earned center stage with their most recent addition, being World of Warcraft: Cataclysm.

The story that revolves around the expansion pack involves Deathwing causing a cataclysmic tectonic event that rips the very land apart and causes more danger than even the Lich King from the second expansion. As hinted by Rob Pardo, the animosity between Varian Wrynn and the Horde, along with that between Thrall and Garrosh Hellscream will come to a climax in the game.
