SK Sansibar's first ever LAN match resulted in a victory over last season's European Champions, Innerfire.Season three's European Champions suffered their first defeat just minutes ago at the hands of SK Gaming SANSIBAR. With one player unable to get a visa, iNNERFiRE took to the stage with just two players while the third played from home. Petar 'Desis' Chenkov admitted in the pre-match interview that it was far from an ideal situation.
But if that played a part, the Bulgarians didn't show it early on when they took the first map. Sansibar pulled it level on Dalaran and then took a 2-1 lead on the third map. The teams then traded the last two maps back and forth, giving SK's German squad a 3-2 victory.
The win, which was unexpected by most, puts SK into a great position to qualify for bracket play. Another win against either plan-B or Landoo should be enough to see them through. Meanwhile, Innerfire are currently playing Plan-B on-stage as they look to get their tournament back on track.
