For CS 1.6 we have a very long history, same for WC3, that's why both of them started in 2003 already when the very first international competitions were out there. Quakelive is no Quakeworld, Quake2, Quake3, Quake4, Painkiller or Unreal Tournament or whatsoever. We strongly believe that Quakelive will stick around for a long time now and therefore is as stable as THE 1on1 FPS title we all want. The startpoint for the ranking is Quakecon, end of story.
If you look at achievements of players from past tournaments, you will have probably 1m differnt opinions, which is fine. Toxic totally dominated Quake4, Fatal1ty and Voo did the same for Painkiller and Quake3 was the title of av3k at firstm then Cypher took over from him, peaking at ESWC grand finals and Rapha taking his spot at ESWC Athens with almost the very same competition as ESWC Grand final had.
Now looking at Quakecon as a follower in this line, Rapha might still have best chances to be counted number 1 or at least 2 in the world. But that is a totally different story. This ranking is Quakelive only and it started last weekend with lots of top notch players in the competition. Rapha was the best and therefore deserves the first spot in this ranking.
Please, when discussing take the time and look up the exact way the ranking works, that helps :)
And Reload of course (come on Challenge-TV I know you are there!). :)
- not to take anything away from Rapha's awesome performance with this comment though, he deserved the Quakecon championship trophy.
