The giants are going down

ImageAfter two days of competition, the Quakecon duel tournament has reached the stage where the good players start to say good bye.

But few expected that Maciej 'av3k' Krzykowski and Marcel 'k1llsen' Paul would be among the players who had to leave the tournament so soon. The Swedish horde has also been reduced from four to two players as old school player Pelle 'Fazz' Söderman found himself schooled by Magnus 'fox' Olsson.

K1llsen who got sponsored by Johnathan 'Fatal1ty' Wendel to go to the tournament had an easy way through the tournament until he faced Alexei 'Cypher' Yanushevsky. Losing the game 2-1 he still showed himself strong so when he lost his first lower bracket game to Thomas 'griffin' Wall many could not help but be surprised.

An even bigger surprise would happen as Av3k who had showed strength in the tournament beating Fazz, got put into lower bracket by Alessandro 'stermy' Avallone. His first opponent in the lower bracket was Brian 'destrukt' Flander, a player who has not performed a lot lately but was able to beat Av3k 2-1 in maps.
