H2k.threat talks a little about their strength and weaknesses, the difference between Lemondogs and their now stable home H2k Gaming. Also discussed is the subject of Gux and Get_Right's participation at DreamHack Summer 2009.H2k gaming is one of the teams participating at the World Cyber Games Qualification this weekend at DreamHack Stockholm, where the top two Swedish teams will qualify for the Grand Finals in China.
H2k Gaming , formely known as Lemondogs , remains mostly famous for their surpising performance at Dreamhack Summer 2009 where they placed first. The team consisted of Johan 'face' Klasson, Björn 'threat' Pers, Frej 'kHRYSTAL' Sjöström, Christopher 'GeT_RiGhT' Alesund and Rasmus 'GuX' Ståhl, a temporary solution for five friends to be able to participate at DreamHack. Gux and Get_Right's temporary spots have then been filled by Emil 'FYRR73' Karlsson and Niklas 'niko' Johansson in order to create a stable line-up.
I took a little time with H2k.threat to talk about the differences in players and organisation, and how this might, or will, affect their playing style for this weekends WCG Qualifications.
I always considered Lemondogs to be a fun mix team, something created as a bit of a "waiting room" for something bigger. Is H2k that something bigger you had been looking for?
Lemondogs has always been serious and the team itself has never been a "mixteam". Though we have never had the chance to attend all the events we wanted to, that's what's going to change now in H2k.
And looking at your sponsors now with H2k-Gaming, do you think they will be able to send you to major events outside of Europe?
We haven't actually discussed that yet since there aren't many big tournaments outside of Europe in the next couple of months.
Rolling back time a little bit, Lemondogs was mostly famous for winning DreamHack Summer 09, do you believe this was highly influence by Christopher 'GeT_RiGhT' Alesund and Rasmus 'GuX' Ståhl or do you think you could do it again with your current lineup?
That team has nothing to do with our ordinary team, it was just five friends going to a LAN to have a good time.
I believe that one of your strengths is that you were or are such an unpredictable mix team with nothing to lose, do you think now that you have "settled down" the pressure will be turned up and you will perhaps lose that advantage?
I agree that us being unpredictable was one of our strengths there and having zero pressure is always a relief. The pressure now at the DreamHack Stockholm wont change because of our first place at DreamHack Summer since its not even the same team.
Soon you will be competing for a spot at the WCG finals, you will be competing against SK, begrip and fnatic. Do you think now that you know the duo fnatic might be an easier team for you to take on? Or do you believe that on the contrary, them knowing you now too, is a disadvantage?
There is no difference from before since we all have played alot with both Gux and get_right in the past.
Have you been practicing hard for this? or do you believe improvisation remains the best options against team who study their opponents?
We always practice hard for events and that hasn't changed for this event either. Thats why we've been at Inferno Online for the last three days playing all day long, trying to prepare as good as we can for the World Cyber Game Qualifications.

DreamHack Stockholm will be going live later today. You can expect live coverage of the event and the World Cyber Games Qualification as usual during the whole tournament.

"It's getting a bit annoying that people are comparing the DH lineup with our normal lineup."
It's getting a bit annoying that people are comparing the DreamHack 2009 lineup with our normal lineup. It wasnt "lemondogs with stand-ins" it was a mixteam that consisted of 40% fnatic and 60% lemondogs players and just so happened to be sponsored to go to DreamHack 09 by Lemondogs. That team has nothing to do with our ordinary team, it was just five friends going to a LAN to have a good time.
