Blizzard sent an email out to all Blizzcon competitors today denying rumours that this year's Blizzcon would be played on the latest 3.2 patch.Game Riot is reporting that Blizzcon will not be played on the new 3.2 patch. With the tournament just weeks away, Blizzard has decided to let players stick with what they know for the time being.
The complete list of changes in this week's 3.2 patch was immense. With that in mind, Blizzard sent an email to WoW players letting them know that the older 3.1.3 patch would be used. The official reasoning is "so that competition can stay consistent between the regionals and Blizzcon."
SK's own Joe 'Enforcer' Morrone had mixed feelings about the decision. "It's just not reasonable that they updated the TR," he said. "So we can't actually practice on the right platform." However, he was confident that the 3.1.3 wouldn't affect SK's chances. "We've won tournaments in 3.1," said the rogue, "and we can do it again. If it affects anything its the practice of other teams and their mentality."
But 'ocelote' told Gameriot that his team had considered dropping out of the tournament if the change was definite. Never the less, he claimed that the news had made his team even more determined: "thanks Blizzard for giving WOAH even more motivation."
