Joining them will be Quake Live.Counter-Strike and World of Warcraft return to ESL TV this Autumn for a fourth season of Extreme Masters. The season will open with a "Super Cup" later this month at GamesCOM in Cologne with each of the main game having a $10,000 prize pool. The whole season will encapsulate eight events with a total purse of $500,000.
The super cups will be on an invite-only basis, with the top European talent attending for both games. The invite list for World of Warcraft can be seen below but there are two teams yet to be invited. Once those teams are known there will be eight teams in total for the Super Cup.
- Mousesports cake
- iNNERFiRE
- Plan B
- against All authority Rat
- SK Gaming SANSIBAR
- NOP
The Counter-Strike tournament will have just half the number of teams but they are four of the best teams in the world, let alone Europe. As you can see below, both European and World IEM champions from season three are invited.
- SK Gaming
- mTw
- fnatic
- Mousesports
Quake Live joins the Extreme Masters fold in season four as a Pro-AM tournament. Described on ESL TV as "slightly lower key", the Quake event will be run as a side event to the main IEM event in Cologne. The prize was not announced, but Carmac promised that more information is to come.
