The new 1.24 patch which makes all 1.23 replays unwatchable makes no alterations to the game for competitive play, but instead addresses issues with the World Editor.Minor changes by Blizzard are normally clustered into a minor patch, but the decision to put these world editor updates into 1.24 means that all the old replays are now null and void.
However, even for the custom fans out there, in particular DoTA fans, the patch is an unwelcome change as it causes new versions of Defence of the Ancients as well as other custom maps to not function properly. "For those playing DoTA on Battle.net, currently the latest version that is working correctly online is 6.59d," said Karune on the official Blizzard thread, "We are actively working with Icefrog to get the later versions to be compatible with the new map."
- Added new JASS hash table functions to replace the lost functionality from
fixing unsafe type casting.
- Hash Table - Save Item Handle
- Hash Table - Save Unit Handle
- Hash Table - Load Item Handle
- Hash Table - Load Unit Handle
- Hash Table - Get Handle ID
FIXES
- Fixed an exploit related to unsafe type casting that allowed users to
execute arbitrary code in maps.
- Fixed the JASS unsafe type casting exploit ("return bug").
- Fixed several World Editor crashes.
ADDITIONAL
• “Shadowing” global variables with local variables no longer is possible.
• Fixed a type conversion dealing with operators (i.e. adding a handle with an integer)
• Added the ability to store hashtable handles in a hashtable
• Added getSpellTargetX and getSpellTargetY natives
• Added a new base handle type “Agent” of which many types now extend from.
• Added a SaveAgentHandle native which can be used for saving most handle types
• Added a JASS optimization dealing with global variable change events.
• Increased max map file size from 4MB to 8MB.

do something about BM. so sick of seeing him. i wanna see more farseer and TC!
also I wonder why the dumb karune gets paid? He should do something new instead of sittin in the office and drinkin coffee.
well they failed with the new patch all the replays we had are gone now we can delete all the replays all the nice matches.
Ofc I care about CG. But if you join a game u see the map. If you dont have a map there is no picture. So if theres a map thats called example "Twisted Meadows" without a picture just dont join. Are u stupid? just think a lil bit.
and other kiddy games I dont play except footy 4.2.
trappedunderice = win
I believe it is the naming policy they have for their patches since they made pretty much everything incompitable version number vice. So they gave it its own version number.
Are you seriously asking me if I'm stupid and then saying they should not have patched the security hole and you haven't yet learned to roll back... mmmyeah.
also stengaHOE go and get some money you loser you freewin.
"yo we will only make new banners and then change some bug issues with downloading maps, patch comes out in 3 years"
and ( what blizzard did)
"yoyo we will give ya some new crazy badass balance changes next day , yo just wait until next day"
*2 years later*
"yo here you have new banner yo check this out!"
...
Like StarCraft, Blizzard just publish new patch to the public.
The same map, same hero, same way to win.
As you can see, an old man is walking up to the end of the world.....
yopu can watch your replays and the patch doesn´t change anything good
I hate to say that but StarCraft scene is completely different - they WANT new maps and HELP CREATORS by discussing map's balance. WarCraft players just sit and shout "we want new maps" or "XXX is imba, f@#& blizzard".
