SK adds ESWC winner WhO, interview inside

By Lawrence Benedict 'Malystryx' Phillips

ImageSK Gaming add another formidable Korean Orc player, Du Seop "WhO" Chang, who won the ESWC 2008 last year.

Du Seop 'WhO' Chang also played a pivotal role in mTw securing 1st place in the NGL ONE Finals in December. However, since then he has slipped out of the limelight, but with the motivation of a team to support him we hope he will soon see a return to form.

His first competition for SK Gaming will be the upcoming WCG Korea, where he has been tipped to be one of the front runners to challenge for one of the three spaces to represent Korea in WCG2009 Grand Finals in Chengdu, China.

WhO will join up with real life friend June 'Lyn' Park in the SK roster, and the duo have already been seen together in a recent interview by SCforAll. Although, to make room for the new addition SK must wave goodbye to Jin Wook 'Rohjinwook' Roh, who was unable to reach the level SK Gaming were hoping he could achieve and therefore we must let him go.

WhO interview

"I know Lyn very well and we meet pretty often to go out drinking or to karaoke"
You said in a video interview with Scforall that you have not been practicising much and that you dont think any team would want you. So how did you react to the news of SK asking you to join, do you think you deserve it?

SK.WhO: I am missing self confidence but I have always wanted to join SK-Gaming and wanted to play together with Lyn, I guess it was a tough decision for SK to take me in but I am thankful. I think its time for me to try harder now.

You won ESWC 2008 and also helped mTw win NGL ONE finals in December, but since then have been quiet, what happened?

SK.WhO: After my old teammates left me I felt a bit lonely. The tournaments I attended within this year I did not do so well in which made me feel bad and took away my motivation.

You did not take part in the NGL ONE Ladder, do you regret not managing to take part in it? What do you think of this tournament?

SK.WhO: I participated in every qualification tournament but I was not very lucky. But I was dissapointed in the first place that ngl one did not invite me in but I guess for the next season I will try to get back on track and to be part of that league.

WCG Korea is coming up, with the competition pretty intense as always. You've got quite a good grid, would you agree? What do you think your chances are for qualifying?

SK.WhO: I agree that my grid is pretty good and I will train hard and if I wont do any big mistakes I think that I have good chances to qualify.

ImageYou said when you left mtw that you missed your old buddies (Fov, Check etc..) and also mentioned in the scforall interview that you wanted to be in a clan with friends. How well do you know Lyn, and do you often spend time together?

SK.WhO: I know Lyn very well and we meet pretty often to go out drinking or to karaoke.

You mentioned that you have a part-time job, what is it?

SK.WhO: I am working part-time in a coffeeshop but the company got a tough time at the moment so I am not sure how long I can keep working there.

Your goals for the rest of 2009? Any shoutouts to your fans?

SK.WhO: My goal for this year is first of all to pass the korean qualifier and than to reach the top3 in WCG. I'd like to thank SK-Gaming for the chance to be part of such a great organisation and I will try to get back in shape to be on top again. The community should look out for me because you will see the old WhO owning again!
