After having recently defeated WICKED eSports in the Upper Final, mousesports had to face them again in the grand final as the Polish made their way up the lower bracket. Mousesports remain undefeated in the whole tournament and walk away with first place. The Gamegune 2009 event in Spain has just come to an end, and with this we now know the champions.
Mousesports has had an exceptionally good tournament to say the least as they take the tournament by storm with no losses whatsoever, defeating the mighty Polish WICKED eSports twice, once on de_inferno and once on de_dust2.
The grand final, in double elimination, meant that mousesports coming from the Upper Bracket only had to win one map, whereas WICKED had to take two maps in a row in order to win. First half started positive for the Germans, however, on the second part of the first half, the Polish picked up their game and brought back some amazing rounds, ending the first half 6-9 in their favor.
However, Mousesports were in shape and WICKED was simply no match for the mighty Germans as they took the T rounds by storm, including some amazing mid-air shots by Fatih 'gob b' Dayik, ending the second half 10-2. This gave Mousesports the win of the first map and thus the overall win of the grand final. Here are the standings:
1. Mousesports 12.000€
2. WICKED eSports 6.000€
3. ledpc 3.000€
4. Virtus.Pro 1.500€
