The first two groups, of a total of eight, are now finished on the first day of the Gamegune event, with more to come tonight. The English and Spanish will be staying home for this one.The first two groups are now finished for Groups A and B in GameGune 2009. Here is a little sum up:
Group A
With no surprise, WICKED eSports grabbed the top spot of their group by winning all three of their games, including winning all 30 rounds against Never.Die making WICKED top of group A. Following them in second place of group A is the German team ESC Gaming de. They themselves lost against WICKED but were able to take the other 2 games with ease. This means that two from the nine Spanish teams are already going home.
1. WICKED eSports
2. ESC Gaming de
3. erandio (going home)
4. Never.Die (going home)
Group B
Yet again, not a surprise, as the favorite of group B, Mousesports , climbs to the top of the group after winning all three games with ease. To note is Christopher 'cash' Steen's great play today, in particular against Team Dignitas where he was up with 16 kills and no deaths. A well deserved second place in group B goes to DELTA , although surprisingly losing to the unknown emoTive . DELTA still had enough spare rounds from the previous games for them to be able to hold the second place, closely followed by Dignitas and emoTive with the same winning and losing streak as DELTA, but with less rounds. Thus sending the English home early again, and yet another Spanish team too, with only six out of the nine Spanish teams participating remaining.
1. Mousesports
2. DELTA
3. Team Dignitas (going home)
4. emoTive (going home)
Groups C, D, E and F are also to be played today. There is currently a short break but games shall be resumed as normal around 16:00 CET.
