Taz: "We will fly by plane! no roadtrip this time"
Wiktor "Taz" Wojtas puts an end to rumours of WICKED being unable to attend GameGune 2009, and announces the Poles will be travelling by air and that "we were assured that there is no financial problems in the organisation."
What makes the statement even more ironic is the fact they actually travelled by car last time they attended GameGune in 2007.
"We will fly by plane! no roadtrip this time, what a pity," said Taz to HLTV. "In some ways we were looking forward to it, but well it's easier to fly and get a decent sleep in hotel, than what we planned earlier. Some of us know how it is like to drive for 30 hours to Bilbao, good old PGS times, and I seriously mean it when I say they were good."
WICKED eSports competed at GameGune 2007 but skipped it last year to participate at eStars 2008 alongside fnatic and emuLate in Team West. However, the Poles did not perform well losing to eSTRO 16-7 and Team Dragon 16-12.
"Looking at how we played in Korea, I'm not sad, because we have always had problems finding our game there, so maybe in some way it is better that we will attend GameGune," said Taz when asked if he was sad his team will be missing out on this years Continental Cup at eStars.
"On the other hand, I'm really sad that we won't attend it because I feel like we deserved a spot there, also we love all the fans, and people who are behind the organisation of the event. I really enjoyed the voting part, I feel cheated!"
WICKED eSports made their name during their time in Meet Your Makers, which when it ultimately went bankrupt, left the Polish team in limbo for a month while they searched for a suitable new home. Despite accepting the offer from WICKED, CrackClan also made a proposal but Taz believes they made the right choice.
"I think that we made the right choice at that time. But I feel really bad about whole situation, because I really liked the way we were approached by Ben Woodward from CC, and we didn't behave the right way, even if they understood our decision, which was really mature and worth mentioning."
"Then we got a message saying 'MYM are bankrupt you won't get your two salaries... Ohhh and by the way, ESWC is going bankrupt too! Peace and love, want to practice? :)," said Taz, "sometimes it feels like we are the luckiest team out there..."
WICKED eSports will be in Bilbao for GameGune which begins this weekend, and find themselves in a group alongside ESC Gaming de, newliGht and the new line-up of alchemists Unleashed . The captain admitted to not knowing anything about newLight but said "we won't underestimate them, no matter if we know the team or not, there is always a dark horse hiding!"

"We will fly by plane! no roadtrip this time, what a pity"
The WICKED eSports captain responded to rumours of the alleged financial issues last week, stating that they will be attending the event no matter the cost even if they have to "travel for 25 hours by car." What makes the statement even more ironic is the fact they actually travelled by car last time they attended GameGune in 2007.

Taz also commented on the ultimate demise of his former team Meet Your Makers, admitting they did consider retiring from gaming, "especially when you are waiting in the dark for two months, without any answers [...], and everyone but us knew that MYM were going down.""Then we got a message saying 'MYM are bankrupt you won't get your two salaries... Ohhh and by the way, ESWC is going bankrupt too! Peace and love, want to practice? :)," said Taz, "sometimes it feels like we are the luckiest team out there..."
