SK-Gaming's editor-in-chief has landed himself a guest column in the Chinese esports magazine, China Electronic Athletics.China Electronic Athletics (CEA) is the biggest-selling esports magazine in China, with a readership of over 200,000. And now, they have given Lawrence 'Malystryx' Phillips a regular column, starting this month with a self-introductory piece. Here's a snippet:

As you can see, the first column is about Malystryx's first steps into esports; how, why and when he discovered competitive gaming, as well as how he joined SK Gaming. For example, did you know that Maly amassed over 13,000 games played on his various WC3 ladder accounts, despite not playing actively for the last three years? Or that he surrounded Yoan 'ToD' Merlo with empty PC boxes to block out the sunlight at his first LAN?
But starting next month, it's down to serious esports business. Although his expertise is in WC3, Maly will covering the whole sphere of esports on a monthly basis. CEA as a company was one of the organisation behind the recent Blizzard College eSports tournament held at Beijing University that Malystryx attended. The CEA magazine is readily available in China and will help SK-Gaming reach an even wider audience.
"So my first year of University back in 2003 was essentially, lectures in the day, sports in the evening and then I would play Warcraft3 until perhaps 5-6am in the morning. When I think back I realise it was too addictive, but then there is also the other side to it that if I had not spent that year playing, I would perhaps not know the game well enough to be able to write about it as I do now. The same way someone addicted to manga when they were young might then discover their passion for drawing, my interest in eSports led to me having a place to develop my interesting in writing."
